The Trulli Remote is a compact, dashboard-mounted controller included with the Trulli Vehicle Kit – AUX Wireless. It connects to your Bass50 using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and gives you safe, phone-free control while driving. You can wirelessly adjust volume, bass gain, and track changes directly from your dash so you can keep your hands on the wheel and your focus on the road.
Remote Interface Overview
The Trulli Remote is designed to keep your music and system controls at your fingertips, minimizing the need to handle your phone or the Bass50 directly. Here’s a guide to the functions of each button and control:
A. Trulli Knob (Left Knob): Master Volume Control
- Rotate left/right to adjust the overall system volume (Bass50 + any connected AUX Receivers).
- Press to mute or unmute the entire system (including main speakers and Bass50).
B. Bass Knob (Right Knob): Subwoofer Gain Control
- Rotate left/right to adjust the Bass50’s independent bass gain level.
- Press to mute or unmute only the Bass50, while leaving main speakers active.
C. Track Backward Button: Tap to skip to the previous track.
D. Track Forward Button : Tap to skip to the next track.
Power On/Standby: Press and hold both arrow buttons ( C + D ) simultaneously for 1 second.
Power Full Off: Press and hold both arrow buttons ( C + D ) simultaneously for 10 seconds.
USB-C Power Option: The USB-C port is not for recharging the remote’s battery; instead, it provides direct power from your vehicle or another external power source, allowing the remote to operate continuously even if the CR123A battery is depleted.
Pairing your Trulli Remote
- Make sure your Bass50 is already connected in the Trulli App.
- Power on your remote by holding both arrow buttons for 1 second.
- If the remote is not already paired, it automatically enters pairing mode.
- The Trulli App will usually detect it automatically and prompt you to connect.
- Once paired, the remote LEDs turn red, and the app home screen will show a remote icon alongside your active input (Bluetooth, AUX, or USB).
If needed, you can also pair manually under the Connect Device card in the app.
Mounting the remote
The Trulli Vehicle Kit includes three mount bases and a magnetic mount head for flexible installation.

Magnetic Mount Head:
- Feed the base’s attachment point through the tightening ring.
- Insert the attachment point into the back of the magnetic mount head.
- Adjust the angle and tighten the ring.
- Center the remote onto the magnet to complete installation.
Power and battery
- Battery Type: Lithium CR123A 3V (included)
- Battery Life: Months of typical use, depending on interaction frequency
- USB-C Port: Not rechargeable, provides wired power only
- Connect to a vehicle or external source for continuous power
- When powered by USB-C, the remote remains on until unplugged
Power management and conservation
The Trulli Remote uses intelligent power states to extend battery life:
On: Active mode with full functionality
Standby: Low-power mode that remains connectable via the Trulli App. Activates after 30 minutes of inactivity and turns off the LED bar. Any knob or button wakes it instantly.
Off: Fully powered down. Hold both track buttons for 7 seconds.
USB Power Mode: When plugged into USB-C, switches to continuous operation and stays connectable.
Battery Tip:
If you will not be using your remote for a long period, power it off completely to preserve battery life. Using standby daily for short drives may shorten total battery life from months to weeks.
Replacing the battery
- Remove the two screws on the magnetic plate at the back.
- Lift off the plate to reveal the battery compartment.
- Replace with a new CR123A 3V battery, ensuring correct polarity.
- Reattach the magnetic plate and screws.
Firmware updates
The Trulli Remote receives firmware updates through the Trulli App:
- You will receive an in-app notification when a new update is available.
- You can also manually check the Remote’s Card in the app.
- Before updating, make sure the remote battery indicator is not red.
- If the battery is low, replace it or connect USB-C power before updating.
- The update process takes about one minute and shows progress and completion in the app.
Checking remote status in the Trulli App
The remote has its own status card on the home screen that displays:
- Connection status and signal strength
- Battery level
- Connected Bass50
- Firmware version
In the Remote Settings Screen, you can:
- Rename the remote
- View detailed connection info
- Initiate firmware updates
On the Bass50's home screen card, you can:
- Quickly reconnect the remote by tapping the “Reconnect” button.
Why background app permissions matter
When you first install the Trulli App, you’ll be asked to enable background app permissions. This allows two critical features to work:
- Control of playback from other apps such as Spotify or Apple Music
- Continuous communication between your Trulli Remote and the app, even when the app runs in the background
Without this permission, your remote will not function properly when the Trulli App is not open in the foreground.
Finding in-app help
You can find a full interactive Remote Guide inside the Trulli App.
