Will the device turn off while plugged in?Updated a year ago

When it comes to portable audio speakers, one of the common questions is whether it is safe to use them while charging. Fortunately, with the JAM5 portable audio speaker, you can use it while charging.

However, for optimal performance and to prolong the battery life of your JAM5, it is best to fully charge it before use. This is because lithium-ion batteries, which power most portable audio speakers, have a limited lifespan and charging the battery repeatedly before it is fully drained can lead to reduced battery capacity over time.

To charge your JAM5, plug the provided USB cable into a power source such as a computer, USB wall charger or a portable power bank. The LED light on the JAM5 will indicate when it is charging and when it is fully charged. A solid red LED light indicates that the speaker is charging, while a solid blue LED light indicates that the speaker is fully charged.

To check the battery level of your JAM5, you can use the LED bar animation or listen for voice prompts. When you power on your JAM5 for the first time, the LED bars will animate halfway following a voice prompt stating "Battery below 50%" if the battery level is below 50%. You can also check the battery level by quickly pressing the +/- buttons, causing the LED bars to animate from left to right. Each step of the LED animation represents 12.5% battery life.

In summary, while you can use your JAM5 portable audio speaker while charging, it is recommended that you fully charge it before use for optimal performance and to prolong the battery life. To charge your JAM5, plug it into a power source using the provided USB cable and monitor the LED light for charging progress. Remember to check the battery level regularly to ensure you are not caught out with a flat battery.
