Battery FAQs
What kind of battery does the Bass50 use?
The Bass50 uses a high-capacity, removable lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO₄) battery. This battery type is ideal for high-output applications because it’s safer, more stable, and offers a longer lifespan than other lithium chemistries.
Can the Bass50 operate without the battery installed?
No. The Bass50 must have its main battery installed to operate. Even if plugged into a charger, it won’t power on unless the battery is inserted properly.
What’s the expected playtime on a full charge?
Expect around 40 hours at low volume, 20 hours at moderate, and 7 hours at max. Runtime may vary depending on EQ settings, music type, and temperature.
How many charge cycles can I expect from the battery?
The LiFePO₄ battery in the Bass50 is rated for over 2,500 full charge cycles, which translates to years of performance under normal use.
What temperatures can the battery operate in?
It can charge between 32–140°F and operate between -4–140°F. Staying in these ranges helps maintain battery performance and prevent automatic shutoff.
What happens if I try to charge it outside the temperature range?
Charging will pause if the temperature is outside of the safe range and resume once the battery warms up or cools down enough to protect its health.
Does the Bass50 have a backup battery?
Yes! The Bass50 includes a backup battery that keeps Bluetooth active in low-power mode for up to 4 days, so you can wake it remotely using the app.
How do I check battery level?
In the Trulli App, by tapping the +/- buttons on the unit (LED ring will animate), or by pressing the status button on the battery itself
How do I store the battery long-term?
Store the battery at around 50% charge in a cool, dry spot. Avoid full discharge or exposure to extreme temps for long periods to preserve battery health. Storage temp limits: 1 month: up to 110°F (45°C), 3 months: up to 95°F (35°C), 6 months: up to 77°F (25°C)
Is the battery safe for travel or flights?
Yes. You can bring the battery on flights, but some airlines may require it to be in carry-on luggage. Always check their lithium battery guidelines first.
How do l install or swap the battery?
Slide the battery into the slot on the back of the Bass50 until it clicks into place. To remove it, press the release tabs and slide it out. It’s quick, simple, and tool-free.
Can I charge a battery while it's inside the Bass50?
Yes! You can charge the installed battery using the included wall or vehicle charger. The external charger is only needed if you want to charge a second battery separately.
Can I buy extra batteries separately?
Yes! Replacement or additional batteries are available from Trulli so you can build a setup that fits your runtime needs.
How do I know when the battery is fully charged?
The external charger’s LED indicator will show charging status. You can also view battery health and charge level inside the Trulli App once installed in the Bass50.
Wall Charger FAQs
How long does it take to charge the Bass50 with the wall charger?
Charging with the included wall charger takes about 2 hours when the Bass50 is turned off. It might take slightly longer if it's playing music while charging.
What kind of wall charger comes with the Bass50?
It’s a global charger: 100–240 V input, 24 V DC 7.5 A output. Certified for safety and reliability. Works internationally with proper plug adapters.
What does the Trulli logo do while charging?
When charging, the Trulli logo pulses white. Once charging is complete, the light turns solid white so you’ll always know when you're topped up.
Can I use a different wall charger than the one included?
No. Always use the provided charger or a Trulli-approved replacement. Using third-party chargers may damage the Bass50 or void the warranty.
Can I leave it charging overnight?
Yes. It’s safe to leave the wall charger plugged in. The Bass50 will manage charging automatically and stop once it’s full to avoid overcharging.
Can I use the wall charger in other countries?
Yes. The included wall charger works worldwide with proper plug adapters, as it supports a wide input voltage range (100–240 V AC).
Can I use the wall charger while playing music?
Yes! You can listen to music while charging. The Bass50 automatically manages power draw to ensure safe and efficient charging during use.
Vehicle Charger FAQs
Can I charge the Bass50 in my car?
Yes. The vehicle charger plugs into your car's accessory outlet and charges the Bass50 while driving. Ideal for on-the-go top-ups.
How long does it take to charge using the vehicle charger?
Vehicle charging takes about 2.5 hours, depending on conditions. It’s slower than wall charging, but it’s convenient for road use.
Will the Bass50 drain my car battery?
No. Charging only begins when the car’s voltage reaches 12.4 V. That means your car must be running to start the charging process.
What’s the vehicle charger spec?
It outputs 12.4–16 V DC and includes a built-in 10 A fuse. This keeps your car and Bass50 protected during charging.
Can I use a different 12V adapter with the Bass50?
No. Use only the included vehicle charger. Other adapters may not deliver the correct voltage or may lack proper protection.
Can I leave the Bass50 plugged into the car when off?
Yes, it’s safe to leave it plugged into your car even when the speaker is off. Charging won’t begin unless voltage is high enough.
External Charger FAQs
Can I charge the Bass50 battery outside of the unit?
Yes. You can charge the removable battery using the optional Trulli external charger without needing the full Bass50 unit nearby.
How long does external charging take?
Expect around 3 hours to fully charge a battery externally. Great if you want to swap in a second battery and keep the music going.
Why would I want to charge a battery outside of the Bass50?
Charging externally means you can keep one battery powering your event while another one charges—no downtime, no interruptions, just continuous bass.
How long does it take to charge a battery with the external charger?
It takes about 3 hours to fully charge a battery from empty using the included external charger.
Is the external charger safe to use with any outlet?
