If your Bass50 isn’t charging in your vehicle, don’t worry—it’s likely working exactly as designed. The Bass50 includes smart charging logic that protects your car’s battery and ensures safe, reliable performance on the go.
Most Common Reason: Vehicle Voltage Is Too Low
The Bass50 only begins charging when your vehicle’s system voltage reaches 12.4 volts or higher. Why?
Most vehicles drop below 12.4V when the engine is off. By waiting until voltage is high enough, the Bass50 avoids draining your car battery when parked.
What this means for you:
- Charging may not begin in accessory mode or when the vehicle is off
- To start charging, turn the vehicle on and allow it to idle for a few seconds
- Once voltage exceeds 12.4V, the Bass50 should begin charging automatically
You’ll see the LED indicator near the power port light up when charging begins
(For LED behavior and details, see the [Bass50 Charging Guide])
Still not charging? Here are a few other things to check:
Use the included 12V vehicle charger
Generic chargers or USB adapters may not provide enough voltage or the correct regulation. The Trulli charger is tuned for safe and consistent power delivery.
Check the connection
Ensure the charger is fully inserted into your vehicle’s accessory port (formerly the cigarette lighter) and into the power input on the Bass50. A loose fit may prevent any current from reaching the Bass50.
Final Notes
If the LED doesn’t turn on and charging still doesn’t begin:
- Try a different 12V outlet in your vehicle
- Test the charger in another car, if available
- Make sure your vehicle is running and has had a moment to stabilize voltage
